I guess what some would call 180's others would call reacting to demand/public opinion. Each the same just one has a more negative connotation that the other for the purpose of stirring reaction and debate.
In the UK the term U-turn is used especially in situations where government policy is changed/reversed and, like '180', is also used as a means of belittling something.

I have an xbox on order but tbh I'm just looking forward to both machines being out there so all of this bs and fanboyism can take a back seat to actually gaming (for a while).
I still maintain that both consoles will be more alike/similar than what the media have claimed, and I say that as someone who has played both machines and their launch titles at EGX.
What we need is PS4 and Xbox One BF4 on mixed servers. How good would that be!
Yeah especially the headset chat. When I played BF4 the voice quality between the 16 on my team was excellent.
I've used both at EGX. DS4 is a massive improvement and I'd have no issue with it If I owned a PS4. You don't notice what controller you are using when playing driveclub - I didn't. Forgot I was on a PS4 game :).
The XB1 controller is for me excellent. I loved the 360 unit and this controller has incremental improvements to an already good design.
Not a reason to choose one console over another so I do wonder why so much debate.

There is a certain arrogance with the 'Greatness Awaits' tag line that doesn't sit well with me. The 'It only does everything' strap line was similarly bold and additonially inaccurate.
I'm sure that PS4 will be successful but I'm a bit put off by the arrogance the company is projecting with such a provocative message. It's almost Apple esque in its assumption that's it's the best thing since sliced bread.
I would recommend playing a demo first. Friendly advice. I played it at EGX along with NFS.

You and I must have played different games then. Forza 5 Laguna Seca looked great very similar to the project cars version I saw. The track itself is a bit boring, not the games fault.

The X1s at EGX were on all day running battlefield and Forza etc. you could actually touch the console. A gentle breeze of warm (not hot) air comes out of the top of the case. The fan must 80-100mm and it pulls air in through the sides and back and through the heatsink and then out of the top of the case.

Day one DLC as far as I'm concerned is CNI (Content Not Included).
The very idea of DLC has been bastardized into effectively pay to play micro trans grab more cash over the price of the title crap.
It annoys the hell out of me.
Fair enough I just prefer it on the back button especially when having a sniper session I can move my viewpoint with right stick, scope with left trigger and spot with back button. It just works for me and I guess its what you are used to.
We didn't get enough time to mess with the control schemes at the EGX show but I did see that you can select veteran when I tried the 360 beta. I still think the spot is stuck to R1 just the flight controls change. I could be wrong.
Battlefield 4 was only available to play on Xbox One. They used 64 consoles all in 2 sets of 32 players. 32 on Conquest and 32 on Obliteration (bomb carrying).
As an Xbox 360 BF3 player with 20days on the clock I can tell you it was really really good.
If you get a chance to try a demo in a shop or show then jump at it. You wont regret it.

This game runs like a train. Great demo.
Trust me I played this on X1 at Eurogamer and it runs like the wind. Fast, smooth and crisp. I only saw a frame tear once and it was in the top 3rd of the screen.
100% purchase no questions asked. Imagine console BF3 running smooth like CoD at well over 720p. The PC players have had it so good. This felt like playing on PC at high settings.

Whilst I respect your opinion I couldn't disagree more on the GT5 comparisons. The native 1080p render of F5 has considerably more track and environmental detail. Granted the Laguna Seca demo doesn't really have the most interesting track but it's still obviously well ahead of any other console game.
